About Jim

I’m a Tokyo-based bilingual business strategist, technologist, and performer with 10+ years of experience growing global brands across APAC, the U.S., and Japan.

At Apple, I lead the APAC Carrier Program for Apple Retail and Online, managing partnerships with telecom partners in Asia. I specialize in market expansion, digital retail, cross-border partnerships, and executive-level storytelling in both English and Japanese.

Previously, I helped launch Happy, a New York-based food & beverage startup featured in The New York Times, and held early tech roles at Rakuten. I hold an MBA from Cornell University and a BA from Colgate University, with additional study at Waseda University and the Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language.

I’ve presented to government ministries like Japan’s MIC and C-suites across Asia, and interpreted live for Daniel Powter’s Japan tour.

Outside work, I perform bilingual improv across Asia with Pirates of Tokyo Bay, produce music as DayWalk, and hold certifications as a Level 3 WSET sommelier and private pilot. I’m passionate about cross-cultural collaboration, creativity, and helping ideas go global.
